Addressing Challenging Behavior Deb Norris

This advanced module prepares teachers to prevent and respond effectively to challenging behavior, including intensive and persistent concerns. Participants will learn to:

  • 1) - Understand the functions of challenging behavior and contributing factors.
  • 2) - Apply strategies for intensive, individualized interventions when universal supports are not enough.
  • 3) - Respond consistently and effectively in the moment to challenging behavior.
  • 4) - Develop behavior support plans that are comprehensive, collaborative, and family-centered.
  • Outcome: Educators will build confidence and competence in addressing challenging behavior, ensuring safe, supportive, and inclusive classrooms.
