Supervision, Health, and Safety in the FCCERS-R September 11, 2020
Children’s well-being is a shared goal among families and educators working in Family Child Care Homes (FCCH). Our children are precious to us! It can be challenging, however, to ensure proper health and safety procedures while also engaging and supervising children of various ages. How do FCCH programs make it work? What barriers do they encounter? This training takes participants inside the Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale – Revised Edition (FCCERS-R) to see what requirements the scale has for supervision, health, and safety during nap/rest, active physical play, meals/snacks, diapering/toileting, and sensory play. Given this information, we will exchange ideas, share strategies, and consider the significance of these quality markers.
