Using the Outdoors as a Teaching Resource Sylvia Kennedy-Godin

Special Topics:
Sponsor: Four Winds Nature Institute, Inc.
Instructor: Emily Pals

This coming school year, time in nature and time outside in general is more important than ever for children. Research shows that these experiences provide countless benefits to children’s well-being and healthy social-emotional development, and we know it offers rich multidisciplinary learning opportunities. Join a group of educators as we venture outside for an initial three-hour all-outdoor session that addresses CDC guidance and focuses on using outdoor spaces as a teaching resource for any subject area. This introduction sets the stage for a teacher-led PLC to support getting all children outdoors. Four Winds staff will provide up to 2 hours of coaching, relevant readings, and resources for the teacher-led PLC.
