Early Childhood professionals work with children, families, and other professionals to provide education and care for children from birth to age 8 (grade 3). As an early childhood professional, you may work in a range of settings including family child care programs, licensed early childhood centers, children’s homes, public schools, or community centers.

You may be self-employed or work for a variety of employers such as:

  • Head Start
  • A Parent Child Center
  • A private for-profit or non-profit program
  • A public school system or private school
  • A community agency or organization
