Spending time outside benefits academic, social-emotional, and physical learning. Join experienced outdoor educators Joan Carey and Emma Hallowell as they strengthen our understanding of why nature-based learning is crucial, especially during the pandemic. Participants will gain inspiration and strategies to put immediately into place. This training demonstrates nature-based songs, games, and activities that support learning, enhance thematic units of study, and build community. Participants will learn a variety of ways to engage young learners, including: o Determining materials for loose parts play o Supporting imaginative outdoor play o Developing movement games for cold days o Leading songs and finger plays
