Supporting Dual Language Learners (DLLs) January 27, 2021
Research shows that having access to learning experiences in a child’s home language alongside English strengthens the language foundation upon which literacy grows, provides meaningful access to the curriculum and can foster better teacher-child relationships. As part of the Vermont Guiding Principles Professional Development Series, this 2-hour session will explore research on first and second language development. Connect research to strategies and approaches to support high-quality learning interactions that support the social and emotional development of dual language learners. You are encouraged to attend the full training series, but welcome to sign up for any individual sessions you choose. Follow the registration link to learn more and to register for any or all of the sessions.
