Program Management, Child Development, Diversity, and Professionalism in Afterschool Sylvia Kennedy-Godin

Special Topics: Afterschool ,
Sponsor: Part 2
Instructor: Lorien Leyden, Leigh Lamphere, Chris Nial

Part 2 Afterschool staff will partake in a full day training that will include programming support, child development, safety and regulations, diversity awareness, and professionalism in afterschool. The programming workshop will include how to plan for successful activities that not only capture the excitement of the youth with whom we work, but also learn how to incorporate STEAM and create incredibly positive experiences for our children in afterschool. Participants will learn to differentiate for the varied ages we serve while taking a closer look at child development and the needs of our families. Working individually, in small and large groups throughout the day, participants will walk away with new programming ideas ready to implement at their afterschool sites as well as having a clear idea of staff expectations, safety in afterschool, and a review of afterschool regulations...all while keeping the important element of fun at the forefront of our time with children!
