Basic Specialized Care May 13, 2019
Basic Specialized Care is a six-hour introductory training for early childhood professionals who serve vulnerable children and their families in child care settings. This training is one of the requirements to become a Specialized Child Care Provider in Vermont. Topics covered include: child development, the impact of stress and abuse on development, red flags, working with families and the system, and mandated reporting responsibilities. The mandated reporter training is required before taking Basic Specialized care - see notes section below.

The Mandated Reporter training is REQUIRED before taking Basic Specialized Care. The link for the free online Mandated Reporter training can be found here: https://dcf.vermont.gov/cdd/professional-development/requirements. You must attend both sessions in order to complete the full 6 hour training. Location: CCV St. Albans, 142 South Main St. Per CCV Policy, please do not bring children to this training.
