Addiction Happens in the Best of Families: Know the Signs, Symptoms & Supports Available for Families Sylvia Kennedy-Godin

Special Topics: Advanced Specialized Care ,
Sponsor: Early Childhood Professionals Network
Instructor: Danielle Cayton, MA/LADC

Drug and Alcohol Abuse affects everyone in the family, and early childhood providers see the impact on the person using as well as the children and others in the family. This training is designed to teach child care professionals about addiction (Substance Use Disorder), including subtle signs and symptoms, the denial that often accompanies it, and the impact on the family. Every member of the family needs safe, reliable adults in whom to confide and who will support them, reassure them, and provide them with appropriate help for their age. In this session, providers will learn about addiction, treatment and recovery options available to people struggling with addiction, and how to make referrals to these supports.
