Dear Early Childhood and Afterschool Community
CCV leadership, in partnership with the Vermont Department of Health, has been closely monitoring the ongoing developments with the COVID-19 coronavirus. The priority of CCV and Northern Lights is the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, trainers, and all participants who engage in Northern Lights services and trainings.
- In response to the situation, CCV has made several decisions about a plan moving forward. CCV’s plan will impact availability of Northern Lights at CCV services in several ways:
Northern Lights at CCV in person trainings scheduled to begin between March 16th and April 15th will be either cancelled or postponed. - Registration is temporarily suspended for Northern Lights at CCV in person trainings scheduled to begin after April 15th. Once we have more information about plans for late spring, we plan to reopen registration.
- Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals and Strengthening Families Toolbox training series’ that are currently in progress will not meet during the week of March 16th. Northern Lights staff will communicate directly with all participants about next steps for these trainings no later than Friday, March 20th.
- CCV academic centers will remain open. Northern Lights at CCV staff will be available to early childhood and afterschool professionals for career advising and support with all core Northern Lights functions.
If you have questions about how these changes will impact you, please don’t hesitate to reach out for support. Your best point of contact is your Northern Lights at CCV Resource Advisor who can support you in finding the answers to your questions.
We recognize this is a challenging time and we are so grateful to all of you for the work you do with children and families. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need support from Northern Lights.
