A Systematic Approach to Teaching Socialization and Play for Young Learners August 20, 2019
Addressing social skills is an important part of any preschool curriculum, but many children with autism and other developmental challenges need targeted instruction to learn how to play both on their own and with others. Join this dynamic, hands-on WORKshop to learn how to reduce barriers for children who struggle with social play. We will review the theoretical foundations of early play and play-based social interactions, explore a variety of practical examples, learn to identify specific levels of social play, and create goal-driven intervention plans for your students. This is a make-and-take WORKshop, so you will also be creating a set of thematic instructional materials that you can take with you to use the next day.
