Understanding Act 1 for Early Childcare Providers September 3, 2020
Participants will: a) discuss child sexual abuse and the grooming process; b) determine how to respond to incidents of potential child sexual abuse and c) develop skills to provide prevention messages to children ages 0-5 years old. Through talking about child sexual abuse and how it happens with a trauma-informed lens, participants will develop skills to recognize abusive behaviors and signs of abuse, respond to concerning situations, and give healthy messages to children as part of prevention. This training will be an open, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for providers with any level of understanding of child sexual abuse prevention to learn. This program is particularly for infant through kindergarten teachers and care givers and those who support them. This training is in partial support of licensed centers meeting Vermont Act 1 requirements.
