AGES & STAGES Developmental Screening December 5, 2019
The first 5 years of a child’s life are very important. A child’s healthy development forms a foundation for lifelong learning and success. Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) are screeners that look at how children are doing in important areas. ASQ-3 looks at communication, physical ability, personal-social skills and problem solving. ASQ-SE looks at social-emotional development. Together, they provide parents, caregivers, teachers and medical personnel important information that can be used to support the child’s healthy growth and development. Participants taking the ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE training will: Review developmental domains; Learn how to use the screening tools; Practice using the tools; Discuss and practice how to conference with parents during all points of the screening; Learn how to access the Vermont Department of Health’s Screening registry; Have access to the screening tool for use in their program. This training may be taken in conjunction with TSG/ASQ Crosswalk.
