Art as Discovery for the Young Child October 17, 2018
Teachers of infants, toddlers, and preschool age children will experience a hands-on learning event for exploring ways to encourage creativity, build confidence, expand vocabulary, and provide an opportunity for collaborative play. The learning objectives will align with What we teach D. VELS area 2: Communication and Expression. Learning objectives to be addressed: 1. Describe the value of opened-ended process art for young children. 2. Increase the number expressive art activities they offer in their child settings. 3. Reflect on and share best practice in expanding vocabulary through visual art with young children. Articulate the creative process.
