Building Curriculum That’s Right for YOUR Program February 21, 2019
Participants will reflect on and draw from their own interests and strengths to inform their curriculum. Participants will identify 3-5 key characteristics of their programs (ie. nature-based, hands-on, physically active, language-rich, child-centered, routines, etc) to further inform their curriculum development. Participants will become familiar with resources – VELS; Emergent Curriculum; domains of learning; curriculum guides; templates; websites. Participants will consider a variety of approaches to developing curriculum specific to their program – begin with stages of development, begin with learning domains, begin with topics of interest, etc. Participants will begin to develop curriculum informed by self-reflection and practice.
