Building Flourishing Communities April 8, 2019
Building Flourishing Communities increases awareness about how early, overwhelming and/or threatening events can lead to poor health and well-being later in life. We will share information from four domains of science Neuroscience, Epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and Resilience as they relate to early adversity and lifelong health. Knowledge of these elements empowers all of us to shift the dynamics within our communities to prevent high ACE scores, build connection, and foster resilience. Childcare settings offer much needed connection for our smallest community members. Childcare providers have a special opportunity to leverage knowledge about early adversity to improve and enhance those connections in service of better lifelong outcomes.
