Special Topics: Afterschool ,
Sponsor: Creative Lives, Inc.
Instructor: Maureen Burford, M.Ed.

Educating with a Holistic Approach Join Director Maureen Burford to learn and implement a comprehensive yet efficient system for teaching and reaching the whole child. This course offers an experiential understanding of Tadd's Framework for Wise Education -- based on her pioneering discoveries about the human energy system, or chakra system, and its fundamental role in healthy human development. Tadd’s practical, whole-child approach includes principles, tools, and strategies that enhance the teaching of any subject. This training supports your own well-being, as well as that of your students, and addresses: Inspired learning and inner happiness The mechanics of focus and concentration The building blocks of self-esteem and confidence What it means to want the best for others Emotional wellbeing Cognitive and character development Positive relationships Developing responsibility and discipline Strategies for improving your partnership with parents and colleagues Participants in the Foundations 1 training join a diverse group of educators to gain a fundamental, comprehensive understanding of the Framework and its applications for ourselves and young people. Each week, you will discover the function of a new chakra center and its role in teaching. The Foundations 1 course includes access to our online learning platform, accompanying written materials, online discussion forums, and audio/visual resources. Our in-person time together helps you experience and practice precise strategies and tools. Classes are limited to 18 attendees to support optimal learning. From a previous learner in our training: "I am a preschool teacher who has recently completed the Foundations 1 course. I have found it incredibly helpful in my work life as well as my personal life, especially as the parent of a strong-willed one-year-old. The first course gave me a toolkit for regulating emotions, staying positive amidst challenges, and maintaining a calm presence with young children. I am excited to gain further knowledge of Ellen’s Framework and look forward to deepening my practice."
