Conscious Discipline October 2, 2020
Participants will a) review the Conscious Discipline Brain State Model, (b) explore the skills needed (language of safety, adult assertiveness, composure and noticing) to help adults and children maintain a sense of psychological safety so that staff regulation can occur, c) develop an understanding of the skill of empathy and how to respond to children’s feelings in a way that contributes to their ability to self regulate, d) learn how to use the Conscious Discipline D.N.A. (Describe and mirror, Name the feeling, Acknowledge what they want) Process to foster self-regulation in adults and children.
