Deep Thinking for Preschoolers: Practicing Pre-K CLASS Instructional Support Copy Sylvia Kennedy-Godin

Special Topics:
Sponsor: STARS
Instructor: Ann Dillenbeck, January O'Donnell

Ready to take your CLASS know-how to the next level? Many early childhood educators, including experienced ones, find it a challenge to increase quality in the Instructional Support domain. They may wonder, “What do analyzing and reasoning look like in a preschool classroom?” “How do I connect concepts when talking about past activities?” and “What teacher responses encourage preschoolers to persist with in their explorations?" During this training, the instructors will use presentation, role play, and participatory activities to bring Instructional Support, the CLASS domain focused on preschoolers learning how to think more deeply, to life. Finally, there will be time for participants to plan how they will engage children in thought-provoking conversations as they play and complete their daily routines.
