Creating Culturally Responsive Curriculum and Learning January 27, 2021
Curriculum and learning that is culturally responsive honors and validates the lived experiences and ways of knowing of children and families from diverse backgrounds. It is grounded in teacher’s dispositions, beliefs, and mindsets about children’s potential which are foundational to bolstering positive teacher-child relationships and learning. As part of the Vermont Guiding Principles Professional Development Series, this 2-hour session will deepen understanding of Culturally Responsive Practice as a framework to support children’s learning including: valuing and incorporating children’s strengths, funds of knowledge, and cultural ways of knowing to make learning more meaningful. You are encouraged to attend the full training series, but welcome to sign up for any individual session you choose. Follow the registration link to learn more and to register for any or all of the sessions.
