Empathy and Emotion Management & Teamwork and Responsibility March 7, 2019
What are the strategies and methods that help practitioners build empathy and emotion management in youth? This workshop will focus on ways to encourage relating to others with acceptance and sensitivity to diverse perspectives and experiences, as well as staff practices that support the ability to constructively handle both positive and challenging emotions. Opportunities to fulfill appropriate roles and responsibilities on a team is a key pathway to foster social and emotional learning in young people. In this workshop, staff will learn strategies to support youth as they grow skills to collaborate and coordinate action with others and reliably meet commitments and fulfill obligations of challenging roles.
