Farm to Early Childhood: Amazing Grains! Sylvia Kennedy-Godin

Special Topics:
Sponsor: College St. Children's Center
Instructor: Kerry Malloy

Long time preschool teacher and director, Kerry Malloy, will lead a workshop exploring Grains as a staple food source for people. Participants will use hand crank grain grinders, to make flours from different grains then try out some of the many recipes which use fresh ground flours and work well with groups of young children. Children as young as 3 years old can use these grinders to make flour, and love doing it! Participants will make some other dishes using whole grains as well. This class will be a comprehensive exploration with math, literacy, science, drama, movement, and music activities and connections, which we will try out, to incorporate in your classroom grain explorations.
