Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals March 25, 2019
This 45 hour training includes broad introductory content designed specifically for early childhood professionals related to eight core knowledge areas: child development, families and communities, observing and assessing, how we teach, what we teach, healthy safe environments and nutrition, professionalism, and program organization. If you have already completed (with a C- or better) a college course that covers child development, check with your resource advisor before registering: Adri Taylo-Behrman, (802) 654-0730 / adri.taylo-behrman@ccv.edu. Participants must enroll in the entire Fundamentals series. Individual sessions are not available. This is a hybrid training that combines 8 in-person classes and 10 online modules. A $25 fee is due upon registration, which is payable online using a credit or debit card. You will also be required to create an account through Better Kid Care and complete 10 online modules to be assigned by your instructor; this requires internet access outside of class. You will pay Better Kid Care directly, $5 for each module. Total cost of the training is $75.00. This training is not a course for college credit. The in-person classes will meet at CCV in Winooski, 1 Abenaki Way. Please note that classes on Weds, 7/17 and Sat, 7/27 are required for successful completion of the course. The Winooski City Parking Garage is located one block west from the CCV building and costs $1 per hour. Metered parking on the street is available using cash or credit at the kiosk. Please do not park in the CCV Visitor lot or in lots designated for neighboring businesses. As per CCV policy, please do not bring children to class.
