This class is required for all new Licensed Childcare Center Staff and is highly recommended for newly registered providers and those who are interested in meeting CDA requirements. This 45 hour course introduces professionals working with young children and their families to the first level of skills and knowledge in five areas: child development, teaching and learning, families and communities, healthy and safe learning environments, and professionalism and program organization.

This training will take place at the Montpelier CCV. This is a hybrid series that runs from1/22/19 to 4/30/19 and includes 9 in-person classes and 10 online modules. Participants must preregister and enroll in the entire Fundamentals series in order to attend this module. Cost: $25.00 to register, plus the cost of 10 online modules at $5 each; total cost = $75.00 Participants must also create accounts with Better Kid Care and complete 10 online modules outside of class (to be assigned by your instructor); this requires internet access. Participants will be responsible for the fee ($5 paid directly to Better Kid Care) for the certificate of completion for each Better Kid Care module Class size is limited to 18. Minimum enrollment: 8. In order to receive accommodations for disabilities, training participants must communicate with the Northern Lights at CCV Americans with Disabilities Coordinator (http://ccv.edu/discover-resources/students-with-disabilities/). To allow reasonable time for arranging services, participants should communicate with the ADA coordinator at least two weeks before training begins.
