Holistic Education: Foundations in Ellen Tadd’s Framework for Wise Education Deb Norris

Special Topics:
Sponsor: Creative Lives
Instructor: Maureen Burford, M.Ed.

A Framework for Wise Education® provides a unique and needed solution to pressing concerns for educators and children -- a missing component in helping children thrive. It is based on author and teacher Ellen Tadd’s observations of the human energy system, or chakra system, and its fundamental role in healthy human development. Tadd's premise is simple but profound: honing well function across the seven main energy centers yields optimal learning, growth, and development for ALL individuals. This is because the chakra system deals with each aspect of our nature -- including our cognitive and character development, our physical health, inner well-being, and our capacity to relate well with others and with nature. Join Creative Lives Director Maureen Burford to explore this timeless, practical approach to holistic teaching and learning. Course topics include: Inspiration as a key to inner happiness The mechanics of focus, concentration, and wise decision-making The keys to sustaining self-esteem, confidence, and love of learning What it means to want the best for others Skills that build and sustain emotional and mental wellbeing The art of healthy relating Developing responsibility and discipline Strategies for improving your partnership with parents and colleagues
