The tools in this workshop will give you the building blocks you need to teach young children with a style and strategies that will foster the development of responsibility, independent problem solving and respectful communication. We will focus on teaching self-regulation within the framework of love and logic. Participants will: 1) gain an understanding of the different ways to change a classroom learning environment and communication within the environment, to influence behavioral change in children; 2) identify strategies for setting enforceable limits with children and neutralizing arguing so that children see their potential for independent problem-solving; 3) learn how to use the "recovery area" approach to preserve the learning environment and to model and teach self-regulation with young children.
