Love and Logic April 22, 2019
Since 1977, the Love and Logic Institute has been dedicated to making parenting and teaching fun and rewarding, instead of stressful and chaotic. We provide practical tools and techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with children and help prepare children for the real world. All of our work is based on a psychologically sound parenting and teaching philosophy called Love and Logic. Love allows children to grown through their mistakes. Logic allows them to live with the consequences of their choices. This workshop will utilize story-telling, humor, hope and empathy to teach the essential skills of building positive and effective adult-child relationships. The techniques emphasize respect and dignity both for children and adults. Love and Logic® provides real limits in a loving way while teaching consequences and healthy decision making. The skills taught in this workshop will offer participants a combination of material from two different curricula – Love and Logic Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun® and the 9 Essential Skills for the Love and Logic Classroom®. Participants will: 1) describe the Two Rules of Love and Logic; 2) demonstrate an understanding of delayed or "anticipatory consequences; 3) practice using Empathy and Love and Logic One-Liners to Neutralize Arguing; 4) describe the components necessary to create a Love and Logic classroom.
