Maintaining High-Quality Interactions with Preschoolers during COVID-19 December 1, 2020
Following Vermont’s COVID-19 Health Guidance helps keep us and our children safe and healthy. These new, and more intense, practices have also changed our classrooms and programs. Join this training to learn how early childhood educators are engaging in effective, in-person interactions with children ages 3 – 5 years in this new era, and to share your own successes. What do the authors of our program quality assessment tools recommend given our changed circumstances? We’ll review the characteristics of high-quality interactions, as measured by both the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) and the Environmental Rating Scales (ERS), and share ways to keep close connections and facilitate in-person learning during this pandemic.
