“Playing Big: Practical Wisdom for Women Who Want to Speak Up, Create, and Lead” Deb Norris

Special Topics:
Sponsor: Barre Unified Union School District
Instructor: April Zajko/Becca Webb

Together we will reflect on the book, "Playing Big: Practical Wisdom for Women Who Want to Speak Up, Create, and Lead". We will explore how to overcome self-doubt, fear, and other obstacles that hold us back from achieving our full potential in our personal and professional lives. Through interactive exercises we will learn to recognize and overcome the inner critic, tap into our inner wisdom, and develop the confidence to pursue new goals and aspirations. Together we will create a roadmap for stepping into leadership roles, create meaningful work, and make a positive impact in the world. Learning Objectives: 1. Identify and articulate personal barriers such as self-doubt and fear that slows progress towards achieving one's full potential in both our personal and professional lives. 2. Utilize interactive exercises and reflective practices to discern and confront the inner critic, learn how we might be hiding, name a leap that you can take to get closer to your goal. 3. Learn how to identify undermining speech habits and shift to communicating with power. Expectation is that participants read the associated chapters and come ready to discuss/explore the big themes. More detailed information on prompting questions will be emailed to those registered. Session One: Playing Big (Introduction and Chapters 1 and 2) Session Two: Hiding / Leaping / Communicating with Power (Chapters 6, 7 and 8)
