Pyramid Model Training – Modules 1 and 2 December 19, 2019
This is module 1 of the Pyramid Model training for social and emotional skills for young children. This module focuses on building positive relationships with students, families and staffs, setting up supportive classroom environments, teaching and promoting clear schedules, routines and expectations, and giving children and team members positive descriptive feedback for following rules and expectations. Module 2 focuses on intentionally teaching friendship skills, emotional literacy and problem solving skills. Teachers learn how to teach social and emotional skills, to plan for kids to practice using these skills, to promote the use of these skills with positive descriptive feedback, and how to help children reflect on their use of these skills. It includes strategies for helping keeps to handle anger and disappointment, working with families, and individualizing instruction for children who need more intensive teaching of skills.
