The Pyramid Model for supporting children with challenging behaviors is a tiered system that includes universal practices, targeted supports, and intensive supports for children birth through 3rd grade. Module 2 Training focuses on Prevention of behavior that challenges us through explicit instruction and support on self-regulation, expressing and understanding emotions, developing social relationships and social problem-solving. The prevention level includes the provision of targeted and individual supports to children at risk of challenging behavior as well as ideas for family engagement in these practices.
