Strengthening Families 17-hour Toolbox Training Series May 3, 2019
Strengthening Families is a research-informed approach to increase family strengths, enhance child development and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. It is based on engaging families, programs and communities in building five protective factors. Module 1 Goal: To learn strategies to strengthen families in order to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of child care Module 2 Goal: To learn strategies to value and support parents in order to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of child care. Module 3 Goal: To learn strategies to facilitate friendships and mutual support in order to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of child care Module 4 Goal: To facilitate children's social and emotional development in order to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of child care Module 5 Goal: To learn strategies to strengthen parenting in order to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of child care Module 6 Goal: To learn Concrete Supports to support families in Times of Need to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of child care Module 7 Goal: To respond to family crisis in order to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of child care Module 8 Goal: To observe and respond to early warning signs in order to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of child care.

The cost for someone who needs all 17 hours will be $40 a person. If they need less than 17 hours it will be $10 for a 3 hour session and $15 for the 5 hour session. Please contact Linda January for more information: 802-388-9688.
