The Power to Change the World – Meeting the Emotional Milestones of Development in Infancy and Early Childhood June 13, 2019
Humans are wired to acquire certain vital emotional capacities in the early years of life which can be strengthened and reworked as the years go by. While this session will primarily focus on infancy and early childhood the concepts presented have applications across the lifespan. In this session we will examine and discuss: the emotional stages of development that form the core foundational capacities for navigating life’s many challenges; what infants and toddlers need and how to meet these needs in early childhood settings; ways to chart your child’s emotional milestones and how to use our interactions to support healthy emotional growth... even at later ages if emotional capacities are under-developed; links to risks and resiliency factors associated with social challenges prevalent today and how this impacts our community as a whole.
