The Seven Essential Life Skills Introduction Deb Norris

Special Topics: Afterschool ,
Sponsor: Anna Howes
Instructor: Anna Howes Gebhardt

Following the work of Ellen Galinsky and her book Mind in the Making we will meet for 2 hours of professional development training. This is an introduction to a full seven module course outlining the 7 essential life skills every child needs and how to create developmentally appropriate games and activities that promote executive functioning of the brain.

We will talk through concepts including:

  • - Understand why executive functioning and these 7 skills are important in adult lives, and how to promote them in ourselves
  • - Learn why they’re important to children, how they develop, and how we can promote the use of these skills in children
