Understanding Temperament May 10, 2023
Children come into the world with different temperamental tendencies that play a major role in behavior. Along with parenting, culture, and the environment, temperament has a strong impact on the relationships that infant and toddlers have with their caregivers. The way infants relate to each other in a group and the way the caregiver experiences the group are influenced by temperament. In group care, children displaying different temperamental traits can create a challenging mix of needs and demands that compete for the caregiver's time and attention. understanding temperament will help caregivers work with individuals and groups more effectively.
