This training is designed to focus on the various ways professionals are impacted by working with vulnerable populations in the helping field. The training includes a thorough exploration of the impact of adversity on individuals and organizations. Participants will understand why workers are at risk for a host of challenges related to working with individuals impacted by adversity. It will also explore the concept of “Vicarious Resilience” or the hopeful ways we are changed by the work we do. Lastly, this training discusses the ways in which workers benefit from building their own resiliency in relation to the work. Participants will have an opportunity to complete a self-assessment of their own level of fatigue as well as a thorough self-care plan that attends to the 6 domains of life and health.
