Never Too Early – Exploring Strategies for Caregivers and Parents to Promote Enjoyment of Books with Young Children September 28, 2023
During this interactive two hour session for parents, teachers and caregivers of very young children, we will explore why early reading experiences are so important for children’s development and success. We will also talk about why it can be hard sometimes to read with young children, and go over some tips and strategies for making it easier! We will share about our own favorite books and stories, and explore new ones together. Participants will be given free books to take home or back to programs to read with children! Objectives: Participants will develop their knowledge of early language and literacy development and skills Participants will increase their understanding of strategies to promote early language and literacy skills through books and stories. Participants will partner with families to actively promote engagement and communication in early childhood program settings and increase mutual awareness of early literacy learning and resources

Participants are strongly encouraged to bring parents or caregivers of young children. This training is for adults; child care is not available Free books will be given to each participant.
