Field Forum: Connecting Children with Food Access Resources and Meal Programming in 3rd Space Programs Deb Norris December 14, 2023

In this session we will address topics such as the At-Risk Afterschool Meal Program, Afterschool grants (like the farm to school grant that afterschool programs are eligible for), connecting families with 3SquaresVT and WIC, and partnerships with school food service programs. Learning Objectives: 1. Session participants will build on their knowledge of food access opportunities and programs that they can either utilize as an afterschool program or that they can connect the families of their students with. 2. Session participants will also learn more about how they can become a food access champion in their communities and why it’s so important for them to become a stakeholder for food security within their position in the Afterschool world.
