Creating Felt Safety with the Four Priorities of Trauma-Informed Education Hailey Paschold

Sponsor: Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC)
Instructor: Alex Shevrin Venet

Let's talk about how to build safety and care in the classroom by dialing in the four priorities of trauma-informed practices. In this workshop, we'll first explore what trauma is and how to recognize it (and when we might not). You'll learn about how predictability, flexibility, connection, and empowerment come together to create felt safety. We'll talk about how each of the four priorities addresses a core need for trauma-affected students (and teachers, too). And we'll unpack some of the complexities, like how we hold predictability and flexibility together.
