Emergent Curriculum – Playfully Learning Sylvia Kennedy-Godin

Special Topics:
Sponsor: Rachel Hunter
Instructor: Rachel Hunter

The best curriculum isn't taken off the shelf or nailed down months ahead of time. Curriculum should shift and shape to meet children's needs and interests, emerging as teachers and children interact with activities and environment and weave their combined interests into learning. This workshop discusses emergent curriculum which involves the whole child; meaning the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical realms of development and learning. We’ll discuss how to build upon what children are interested in and how their fascinations help them learn naturally and holistically.
