Implementing Developmentally Appropriate Activities for Infants and Toddlers December 19, 2019
This training will focus on helping teachers to provide small group and large group activities to infants and toddlers that are developmentally appropriate in terms of time (short duration), materials, and differentiation for infants, young toddlers and older toddlers. We will use the VELS and resources from NAEYC and Pyramid Model as the basis for this understanding. Very young children need engaging activities that allow them to explore materials, interact with adults and peers, and gain a new understanding of their world. Teachers will learn to choose safe, hands on materials that allow for children to be creative and involved in the process of engaging with materials, rather than focusing on preconceived products.
