Basic Specialized Care November 15, 2018
The BSC training is a required training for directors and registrants who wish to care for children under Protective Services Child Care, Family Support Child Care or Special Needs Childcare, and is optional for teachers or other care givers in the childcare setting. The six- hour training counts towards the annual professional development required by the Child Development Division (CDD) Child Care Licensing. The Course topics include: • Care-giving together with Families • Understanding Differences in Development • Child Abuse, Neglect & Trauma • Understanding Children’s Behavior • Community Resources and Supports Prior to taking Basic Specialized Care (BSC) training, all participants must complete the Vermont On-Line Mandated Reporter Training (from Vermont Agency of Human Services and Kid Safe Collaborative Inc.) There is no charge for this module, but you must receive a certificate of completion. Please submit this certificate of completion along with the following cover sheet to Northern Lights so they may add it to your BFIS credentialing account.
