CLASS Regard for Child Perspectives: Overview, Podcast, and Discussion Deb Norris

Special Topics:
Sponsor: STARS
Instructor: Ann Dillenbeck

From Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) beginners to those already immersed in CLASS strategies, everyone will gain insight and inspiration from this interactive session. We’ll begin with a brief overview of the Regard for Child Perspectives dimension in the Pre-K and Toddler CLASS tools. We’ll then alternate sections of the Teaching with CLASS® podcast, Encouraging Voice and Choice in the Classroom, with facilitated discussion. Come share your experience and reactions to the conversation between host Mamie Morrow and veteran early childhood educator and coach Colleen Schmitt. Leave with ideas for emphasizing children’s interests and points of view while also following a predictable schedule, introducing new topics, and supporting cooperative behavior.
