Promoting Children’s Success: Building Relationships and Creating Supportive Environments This module addresses strategies for preventing challenging behavior through building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues; designing environments, schedules and routines; implementing activities that promote child engagement; modifying and adapting materials and activities to meet individual needs of children and providing encouragement and positive feedback to children. Embedded into this trainings are The Strengthening Family Protective Factor Framework which provides insight into what families and children need to build relationships and how to adapt environments to meet individual needs.

These trainings are provided by a grant UVM received to train and coach in the Pyramid Model and the use of Strengthening Families. The sites were selected in three regions of the state through the Building Bright Futures Coordinators based on interest, availability and desire to have coaching in their programs. The grant will end on February 15, 2021. All trainings will be completed through Zoom. Small groups and whole group discussions will take place, attendance taken and documentation sent to all participants for each individual training. There will be 12.5 hours of Zoom Trainings (5 days at 2.5 hours each) on 12/4 & 12/18, 2020 and 1/8, 1/22, 2/5, 2021. There will be 2.5 hours of homework ( a half hour of homework per session). The total number of PD hours will be 15.
