Enhancing Creativity in the Early Years through the Lens of Storytelling Deb Norris January 17, 2025

During this eight session CoP we will explore a variety of art mediums through the lens of storytelling. A rough outline of the CoP is shared below. Providers need to participate in all sessions as we will work together to create a sense of community and collaboration.

  • January 30th, 2025 (Zoom) Zoom Introduction to the COP: topics to be covered, materials, expectations, how to observe & document etc
  • February 13th, 2025 (In-Person: Castleton Senior Center) Exploring Color Could include- color mixing and naming color, creating murals, felting, color of sound, etc
  • February 27th (Zoom) Follow Up of previous onsite session- Carrie will pose questions and moderate participant responses.
  • March 13th, 2025 (In-Person: Castleton Senior Center) Exploring Fabric Could include- weaving, dancing, sewing, photography etc
  • March 27th, 2025 (Zoom) Follow Up of previous onsite session- Carrie will pose questions and moderate participant responses.
  • April 10th, 2025 (In-Person: Castleton Senior Center) Exploring Clay Could include- the language of clay (touching/discovering, piling, pounding, cutting, rolling), loose parts & clay
  • April 24th, 2025 (Zoom) Zoom Follow Up of previous onsite session- Carrie will pose questions and moderate participant responses.
  • May 8th, 2025 (In-Person: Castleton Senior Center) Onsite- Group Creations (small groups creating a story using materials and then sharing with the large group), Time to plan and work on documentation for family events.
