Facilitated Exploration and Language Modeling: Deepening Infant-Toddler Engagement (Southern Vermont) Deb Norris

Sponsor: Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC)
Instructor: Nikki Bearor

This intermediate/advanced in-person session invites Infant, Toddler, and Family Child Care educators to start their day with CLASS®—enjoying breakfast, connecting with peers, and diving into the updated Infant/Toddler CLASS® dimensions of Facilitated Exploration and Language Modeling. Participants will explore the new combined 2nd edition of the Infant/Toddler CLASS® tool through hands-on activities, practice scenarios, and small-group discussions. Together, we’ll reflect in the moment, revisit strategies like language modeling, and elevate everyday interactions that support engagement and learning through play.
