This two-hour workshop focuses on family engagement and how to partner with parents for more effective programming. During this workshop participants will reflect on the current relationships they have with parents and how to strengthen them. They will reflect on their assumptions and develop strategies to engage families in different aspects of program. Participants will learn the importance of building the relationship first then partnering with parents on behavior when appropriate. Participants will also discuss the importance of confidentiality and messages we send parents (intentionally or not). Participants will develop a family engagement plan.
