Field Forum: Understand Eating Disorders – Personal Healing and Culture Change September 10, 2025
This presentation provides a high-level overview of eating disorders, tailored for educators and parents who play a critical role in early identification and support. Participants will examine contributing factors—including developmental, psychological, and sociocultural influences—and explore the complexities of recognizing and responding to disordered eating in youth. Special attention will be given to dismantling weight bias, diet culture, and harmful body-related messaging in schools and homes. Grounded in both personal healing and systemic change, this session offers practical tools, compassionate insight, and a call to action to foster environments where all young people can thrive in their bodies.
