Let’s Grow Kids Leading Change For Children 2019 Advocacy Conference – Johnson November 27, 2019
Description: - explore the implications of what advancing as a profession might mean for Vermont’s early childhood workforce. - create narrative that illustrates the need for more investment in early childhood education. - increase understanding of the role that government plays in creating change for children and families and to consider how advocates can maximize the potential of their impact on that process. -systems building activities that harnesses the power of collaboration to increase the alignment and coordination of actions aimed at creating positive change. -examines the important connection between health care and early childhood education and explores the potential of using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) tool to strengthen the relationship between these two fields and to improve health outcomes for children and families. Objectives: -Participants will strengthen their regional relationships, practice systems level thinking, and apply strategic planning skills to identify concrete steps they can take to effect change. -Participants will be able to identify how they can be involved in Advancing as a Profession. -Participants will discuss, apply and construct an action plan. -participants will learn the process and practice the skills necessary to advance the narrative by organizing and promoting a film screening in their community. -Participants will examine their sphere of influence and identify the relationships that can be cultivated in an effort to strategically advance the vision of affordable access to high-quality child care for all Vermont families by 2025. Participants will strengthen their regional relationships, practice systems level thinking, and apply strategic planning skills to identify concrete steps they can take to effect change.
