Nature Play and Learning: Loose Parts Play May 17, 2021
Children develop curiosity, wonder, a sense of place, and an appreciation for the earth when they play in nature and with nature. In their nature-based play, children encounter natural phenomena, ask meaningful questions, work collaboratively, solve problems, communicate, and practice science and engineering skills. This session, focused on loose parts play, will support early childhood professionals in developing rich and developmentally appropriate outdoor play experiences for children in their care. Topics will include the benefits of loose parts play, practical tips and strategies for fostering it, and hands-on time with different materials. Please register by June 2, 2021.
